Hi, congratulations on the baby, im realy pleased for you.
Hope you are still getting to plenty of meetings and working your programme. Babies are the most precious things in the world and real exciting but even the most placid of babies can cause stress and sleepless nights.
Im doing a lot of praying at the minute for a young lady who lives near me. She has just found out she is pregnant a few weeks ago and has stopped drinking and smoking straight away. Im worried for her though because she isnt in recovery although I would definately say she is one of us. The euphoria at the minute for her is wonderful and im so proud of her but she thinks that just the baby will keep her sober and as I said, once she is being kept awake all night etc its quite different and without a programme of recovery, I worry for her.
She has had a hard life bless her, and doesnt really have anyone. Her biological father was a romany gypsy who kidnapped her from her mother when she was a baby and left her with his parents (her grandparents) to raise whilst he went on and lived his life. She doesnt really know him and until her grandparents died a couple years ago didnt know her biological mum either. The babies father isnt involved so she is totally on her own with this. Obviously, I will do all I can for her but its not the same as having family around is it.
Its in Gods hands now though, I understand that and am praying for her.
Adriana, that is amazing news! I haven't been on in a while but hearing this absolutely makes my day and for that, I thank you!! See, you are living proof that this can be done!!! Keep up the hard work and hope you got a chip! At my group we give them out for 1, 2, 3, 6 and 9 months.
