Don't we get tested on what we learn from the book in real life? Whats the point in doing it as an exam? Shall we all check our scores and the winner can brag about it to their friends?

Maybe I'm being a touch cynical here, it's hard to tell on a Friday after a hard week.

Hope everyone is well, and sober too.

Best wishes to you all.

Chris.

Its a very imformative site Gone sober. Thanku for sharing it with us.

I do hafta agree with Chris on this one tho.

I have an old time sponsor that says "Its not how well we know the Big Book, and The Program--its what we do with, what we do know, and practice, that counts."

gee, Chris and Phil....   remember when I used to criticize your posts like that, Phil?  Didn't like it too much.   The person is a newbie that was just trying to share.  Easy...  Hey, Chris...   maybe after some rest,,,   we could be a little more understanding of the newbie... okay?    Maybe you both flunked the test that Chris was talking abaout taking in real life too..  lol   If your response is the exam.

Okay.. so.. now..  you criticized the newbie,,, and I criticized you..  shall we continue the go round? or.. ease up?

love in recovery,

amanda

Youre entitled to your opinion, the same as anyone else here is, Amanda. I accept that opinion, for what its worth.

Well there's nothing like a good argument to get things moving on a message board.  :)

If it matters, this person came into two chatrooms I was in today promoting the same site.  I'm not entirely sure I buy the "I just ran across this site" story.  It seems to me it'd be more honest to say that you're trying to direct traffic at it.

I try to avoid doing that with sites I run (none AA-related) because it does irritate people... it feels like an advertisement, whether you mean for it to or not.

Thank you very much, Phil,,, for accepting my opinion for what it's worth..  I reckon yours  and mine are worth the same.

hmm.... an advertisement.. now that might be...  there are some ads in each of the rooms now...  and I wish that John would take them off.

I still think that Chris and Phil were right when they said that our test of knowledge of the BB is the way we practice the principles...  let's practice them....  remembering that it is 'progress and not perfection',,,  and not to bite at each other..

love in recovery,

amanda
