Just got back from my last NC trip of the year.  Flew up Tuesday, finished building another deck, closed up for the winter and drove back to FL today.  Pretty busy around here, no one knew that I was gone.  weirdface

Hey Dean!  Good to have you back.  I knew you were going to the place in the mountains, but didn't think you were going to be taking so long.

BTW, my summer home is in Northern North Dakota.....(my winter home is also!) wink

PS.  It is MOST definitely my WINTER home right now!

Welcome back !!  Im still trying to get acquainted with the 'homies' here in this group.  So, sorry I didnt notice you were gone.
Im a Michigander waiting for the first snow storm .  I find it exciting , and yeah my summer and winter home is here .  But do have a house on wheels that Hubby I travel in when its doable.
My Dad is in Fla.  He wants us to come down this winter, but we are looking at some places in New Mexico.  I can already hear the disappointment in his voice... and even tho I am so grateful to have my Family back today after years of abandoning them during my drinking, I try to remember I have some choices today.
Yep, winter is definately on its way ... suppose to snow a little bit here today !!

Welcome back, Dean. Do you ever head up there in the winter? I bet it is really pretty up there in the snow.

I am rather enjoying the cold snap here, and preparing all my snuggly winter clothes for the season. Won't be long til we are driving to work every day in sludge!!

Being that my husband does heavy towing though, it is jackpot season when the weather is bad. All in how you look at it, right!?

Hi Dean,
Nice to have you back.
Sorry folks, unless I'm on the backend of a snowmobile, I'm not at all crazy about the stuff. The last few winters were not kind in Central Ill. A couple of inches that softly covers
the ground and comes in Dec. 23rd and is melted Dec 26th is enough. Just to help Santa and
make Christmastime pretty.
Why don't you use your cabin in the winter? Am sort of curious about that one too. Or
rent it out to hunters. There's a gal I know who every deer season rents her now deceased
parents' farm home out. She even goes there during the day and cooks meals for them,
all of course for a nice little profit. Might want to reconsider closing it up.
Anyway......glad you are back with us.
Wanda

Niiiiiccccceeeee!!!!! Very nice. In my neck of the woods that's not considered a 'cabin'.
In fact just about 10 mis from where I live a fellow built two similar homes. One had an
'open house' of which I thought of touring today. Tooooo rich for my blood! Already know
what both are listed for. (Come on lotto! LOL)
Checked out the family pic. Nice looking bunch!

How cool is THAT!!!???? I am thinking..... MIP meetup at Blueridge someday???? :o)

How are things in FL? I am debating whether to go down to see my dad this winter or not.... we have a lot going on here this winter with one of the youngin's being hospitalized right now out in Oklahoma (prayers requested on that note)... but my husband is encouraging me to take a flight down to FL in January. We shall see. I do know that right about January I would welcome an escape from the snow and some fishing with dad again!!

Are you still working on the new house in FL?

Sobriety rocks, eh? We can get so much done without a 6-pack in hand 24/7!!!

Take care.

Yes we can.... The FL house didn't need much other than a dock/boatlift, that I'm getting ready to build in Jan. Come on down Joni, I owe you a ride from the airport. Where does your dad live again? Lauderdale?
Watch the weather carefully as I believe it's going to be a cool winter down here (=bad winter up north).
Prayers are already sent for you little one.

LOL... we could start a commune there,,,, like .....!!! NOT!!! Just Kidding!!! LOL

Still kicking around going down this winter, Dean. It would only be 5 days (Okeechobee... I fly into West Palm Airport). Last year I was there for 10. Got work constraints and stuff this year, plus the little one (stepson, 9) was hospitalized recently due to mental issues, and he is coming down sometime in Dec-Jan. Have to be here while the kids are here this year......

nice thought though!!!
