I went to my first meeting tonight. I got cold feet yesterday but I did it today! I attended church this morning which loosened me up for tonight. I'm so happy i did.
I met a wonderful lady and exchanged numbers. I was definitely the youngest by 10 years. everyone was so nice. so generous with their thoughts. I spoke a bit about what ultimately brought me through the doors. Today I just feel so much better.
I would like to find a group around my age, but if not i really felt comfortable. I was only slightly uncomfortable when a guy, intoxicated, was kicked out of the meeting.
All in all, a great day!

great news CJ. That's the secret to AA meetings. No matter had badly we feel a meeting will always make us feel better. Call your local AA intergroup office listed in the phone book and ask them about young persons meetings or where younger AA people hang out attend. AA clubs are good for that as well.
Congratulations! I am so inspired that you could walk into your first one alone. I had someone holding my hand, made it a little easier and a little safer for me.
Welcome - we look forward to sharing your journey.

Well done on going to your first meeting. I remember going to mine and I was a shaking wreck and not at all sure what to expect. But, now I love my meetings and just wish that I had acknowledged my problem so much earlier and done something about it then.
Please keep posting and letting us know how things are going for you, won't you?
Take care,
Carol

Good job! You'll be surprized how many young people go to meetings. Mix it up a bit, get younger folks numbers and they will lead the way for you!

Hey, congrats on making your first meeting !! Your next one will be the most important . Im saddened to know that the drunk was thrown out of the meeting. Id have to believe He was there for a reason. That is not good AA in my opinion . But you keep going back for you will find what you need in AA.
