I love that song! Sort of my theme song...except I go voluntarily. Well, back from a 14 day "Structured Treatment Program" and I must say, it was awesome! Lots of group sessions, interesting topics and 12 men recovering from crack, alcohol, heroin and pills. The food was great and we went on a few field trips. (one being a boat ride on the ocean, reminded me of the movie "One flew over the cuckoos nest")
For the last few months I can honestly say that I have had an enjoyable recovery, no slips, lots of meetings and I do love the author interviews on Oprah's Soul Series XM radio shows (I watch them on her website) For me, right now, I need all of the spiritual teachings I can get, I love how it puts everything into perspective for me.
Glad to be back with you fine folks and will visit as often as possible.
Scott

I recognize the flag, my last home group was there, Albro Lake.

And I recall meeting a Scott in the rooms of AA there too.

Good to see you here Scott. Maybe we've headed over to Tim's for an after meeting meeting at one time or other.  :)

have a nice day.

Welcome home, Scotty :) It's great to see you doing so well & having an overhaul. Takes so much all this stuff doesn't it but you'll be all fresh & rewired when you're done & I'm glad you'll maintain what's good for you. Like visiting here often! Miss you while you're away. Great to see that perhaps Bruce may know you.

I got a pm a couple of weeks ago from a fellow Scouser who signed up here a few years ago but hasn't posted. He hasn't been back to check his mail either! He's from up the northend & I'm a southender but still excited about hooking up with him on here again some time in the future.

All helps the AA family fellowship bond feel stronger. He did say where his home group is so there's an excuse there for me to go visiting ;) Also waiting for my friend Jane to wet her feet in MIP waters too. Fingers Xd! Happy Sober Day, Scott. Keep up all your good work. God bless, Daniella x

Great to see you here, Scott. Your recent experiences sound awesome! I think EVERY meeting is like One Flew Over a Kuckoo's Nest! (Maybe it's just because I always find MYSELF there... hahaha)

You sound so ALIVE, and it is such a nice thing to have you here and sharing with us. Keep it up, you are a great part of this forum!!

OK. I had no idea this was a song. (old school here, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Airplane, etc) so I Googled it and came up with Amy Winehouse. Correct? If so the words were strange, but so is Amy! How many times has that girl been in rehab?! rofl.gif

Call me old, call me dumb, call me uneducated {but, please, call me}....

I'm courious enough now to go looking for the words to that unknown song.

Happily trodding off to look for lyrics, coffee in hand ...

Have a great day.
Bruce

EDIT: ok, got it ...
Amy Winehouse

"Rehab"

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no'
Yes I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab but I won't go go go
{and more}
... nope, never heard it. Living in a Spanish Speaking country helps I guess. smile
