Daily Reflections - A Frame Of Reference

Referring to our list [inventory] again. Putting out of our minds the
wrongs others had done, we resolutely looked for our own mistakes.
Where had we been selfish, dishonest, self-seeking and frightened?
ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 67

There is a wonderful freedom in not needing constant approval from
colleagues at work or from the people I love. I wish I had known about
this Step before, because once I developed a frame of reference, I felt
able to do the next right thing, knowing that the action fit the situation
and that it was the correct thing to do.

We will love you until you can love yourself comes to mind! Looking at others or judging others always made me feel superior, I wasnt as bad as them. Or they made me mad so I did this.....
Today, I can look to myself for approval and love myself enough to know my part in things. Did I do the next right thing, for the right reasons?

Wow ~ Sanity!

Joe & Charlie talk about sanity being a wholeness of mind. When we are living in the truth of ourselves then we can have the info we need to make these healthy decisions. How can I make spiritually sound decisions if I am living in denial of my own true selfish motives? Thanks again to this beautiful program. I am not perfect. I cannot be perfect & I have struggled over the months to come to terms with the challenges that having to be this honest comes with but I do not want to drink & if I'm disturbed or frustrated I will suffer. I'm glad that this program also helps me to deal with the difficulties & subtleties that come with learning this profound ability of surrendering ego in order to win in the greater good. I could only really have the courage to do this with the strength of AA, fellowship & my HP inside me so stands to reason I need to be here! Thanks for being here with me everyone & Laurie! ;) Daniella x
