Just thought I'd drop and say hi

Think the last I checked in was around celebrating 5 years in the program and things seemed to be going fine.  Until I hit a road block, as you would say it,
have to laugh now.  but that is ok, we all need  a bit of a challenge, and I guess mind hit the day after my aniversary.

Lost our dog she was 13 years old and she past away at home, she live a long life and the same nite I loss my job....  Things happen in pairs, come to find out that financially this month things went south.   But that's ok, I'm sure we hit that once in awhile.

I've been talking to someone from my past whom I think it's about time I stop being afraid and full of fear.  This person whom I speak of is the my children's father.  I plan on taking my kids to see him and this will be the first time my daughters met her father....

I'm praying that things will go well, and my son already spent a week with dad, so in the end of this little check in,  I hope to overcome some difficult time of my past and come to an understanding that I'm human and it's alright to be afraid.

So I've been to a few meetings, and keeping close to my high power, and by the way I've gained another sponsee....  On the brighter side, I plan on continuing to give back as much as possible.

My children are doing well, daughter is coming home this week from camp and son is still plugging away at her one day at a time.

Bye for now and hugs.

Tina

Hi Tina,

I'm sorry for the loss of your dog. They become such a part of the family and it's hard when they are no longer with us. But, I'm sure your doggie had a lovely life with you.

And, Tina, I'm sorry for the loss of your job. I do hope that you've got another super job lined up. But, I'm sure that God has His plans for you.

I do hope that the reunion with your children's father will go well. I'm sure that it will be an emotional time for you and not the easiest. But, you can stay strong.

Tina, it's fine to be human and frightened of things. I guess that FEAR is about Facing Everything And Recovering or F*** Everything And Run. You always come across as a strong person to me and I'm sure that you will be fine. But, prayers are going up for you and your children now.

Please let us know how things are going, won't you?

Take care,

Carol

Hi Tina, I am sorry about your dog and your job. It is hard to lose either one and never mind both in the same day. I always say that their is never a problem without a gift and I know at this moment it might be hard to see the gifts.

But at the same time I feel from your post that you do well with things that happen in life.

It is good your children get to meet their Dad. It will mean a lot to them as they grow. How old are your children? I hope all is going well for you. Rosie

Thanks for the encouragement, again I always managed to bounce back at some point or other.

The program teaches us either we can take it and deal with it in a positive way or let it eat away at what we've accomplished.

Rosie asked how old my children are and well,

My Son whom is my oldest just turned 19 years old and recently spent a week with his dad before christmas.
My daughter is the youngest is turning sweet 16 september 3, she's never met her father so this will be an experience for all of us and I know they both are looking forward to the meeting.

thanks again

Hugs to all

Hi Tina, I am happy that your children can meet their Father. It is important. Best wishes with that. And I like what you say about dealing with things and not letting it affect your accomplishments.

It is like throwing the baby out with the bath water if you allow things that happen to affect everything else. Great outlook!

Also I had posted this about fear on another thread but I will say this to you also. Fear is our friend. We need to respect it. It is telling us something.

When our fear overwhelms us it is because we either push it aside or try to push through it or treat it like an enemy. I had a dear man tell me that when fear pops up to make friends with it and have a talk with it.

It will show you many things about yourself if you listen in peace and tranquility. I feel fear has had a bad rap.

I feel if you sit with your friend "fear" that you will be able to meet your childrens Father with much strength and insight.

Take care and thank you for being here. Rosie
