Just to say that I am going away early tomorrow morning to see my parents for a week or so. If anyone wants to take over the Language of Letting Go postings that would be great.
I need this break and it will be good to see my parents. I told them last time about being an alcoholic and going to AA, so it's great going to see them this time with no secrets between us. They have recently told me that they are proud of me. It's the first time that my parents have really been proud of me enough to say it. It feels good.
Last Thursday I had 900 days of continuous sobriety which just feels amazing. It's incredible what we can achieve just one day at a time. I am so truly grateful to AA and to all of the wonderful people that I have met. AA hasn't given me my old life back ~ it's given me a wonderful new life that I could never have dreamed of before. My life isn't always as I would like it to be and stuff still happens which upsets me, but today I no longer need to drink over issues like that.
And, I have been offered a place on the next course in my studies! So, I'm delighted about that.
Anyway, have a super and sober week and I'll catch up with you all soon.
Take care,
Carol
