I like to post these daily thoughts randomly because they offer so much to me...Makes me think of where I am today..This is a great one for the new people here. Life does get better, not perfect, but definetly better than it was when I was drinking. Give it a try....

Laughter

Then I began to see the miracles that happen only in AA.
People who would nearly crawl in the doors,
sick and broken, and who in a few weeks of meetings
and not drinking one day at a time
would get their health back, find a little job
and friends who really cared,
and then discover a God in their lives.
But the most compelling part of AA,
the part that made me want to try this sober thing,
was the laughter, the pure joy of the laughter
that I heard only from sober alcoholics.

Thought to Ponder....

Smile, it's a free facelift.

Nice Lani. I especially love the facelift one since Father Time is creeping up on me. :)

The first one is awesome, had not noticed that in the Big Book. Describes my experience and that of a lot of other folks I see.

I have to tell you a secret though....I hate the term newbie. hmm

"the pure joy of the laughter that I heard only from sober alcoholics."

That is truly beautiful and brings tears of hope and sorrow to my eyes all at the same time..

Thanks for sharing =]

Old-timer sounds really old. I think I'll quit posting before I get to that point.

Can I be "chemically enslaved" instead?

Ok, enough with the jokes.......biggrin

Someone at my noon meeting today said, "the first time I walked in here I wondered where the booze was. Way too much laughter going on!!"

Take care all.
