I just went to my first AA meeting despite not being an A. I bawled through most of the meeting. I caused the woman that was heading hte meeting enough that she wanted to talk to me afterwards. She told me about Alateen and Alanon. Once I got up the urge to speak to her (I had kept saying to my friend, Nate, I don't wanna say it and he would say "you don't have to say anything") then I finally told the woman I'm ACoA - Adult Child of an Alcoholic. I am going back 2morrow with my friend.

ESH would be appreciated.

Wow Lanchas. First of all, welcome here. Secondly, have you gone to any Acoa meetings? I do not have any experience with this issue, so I may not be of much help. Just know that someone cares about you tonight, and is willing to listen to whatever it is that is troubling you. If we can help here in any way, we will.

Good to see you L:
I think its great your getting to some meetings. The good part of going to an AA meeting is , you can see where your parent(s) are coming from and know that it is a disease! Its also great to hit the other meetings so you can help you!

Id love for my kids to hit a few aa meetings so they can see the consequences of drinking! Theyre 15, 16 and as of today want nothing to do with alateen etc. I think theyre just happy my husband and I are going to our own aa meetings!

Hang in there and keep up the good work!
Lani
