Today  I got up a little early in the morning and found my mother still asleep. Not used to the kitchen, I went there to make my up of tea.I found some preparations for morning breakfast lying on the kitchen slab.Wandering around, also saw some uncleaned dishes.Decided to clean the kitchen, make tea for everyone.Lateron prepared breakfast too. When I went to my mom with the tea, she half-mumbled that she will get up soon, and make my breakfast! When I told her I have already done it, she sort of immediately opened her eyes and said, 'really..'- there was an angelic smile and sweetness on her face, I wonder, why I never noticed it  before.Never been close to my mom, and now, as a sick person my conversations with her were mostly limited to 'need to talk 'basis....I went on to half prepare the lunch as well.We didn't talk much, but could feel something's well.

I wonder now I am such a selflish person, using my family for my own needs rather than really making it up to them.I am sure if I had drunk today, I wouldn't have had this experience which was spiritual for me.

From last couple of days I have been successfullywarding off temptations of all sorts- they screw up my head sometimes, but so far, have been able to fight them successfully. I know for certain in some of the most trying circumstances,I didn't do 'IT', it was my Higher Power looking over me. smile

I am very emotional today, and I am filled with unparalleled graditude for being alive, able to appreciate life and away from that one drink which can spoil all teh niceness in my life. Thank You.

Wow Nisha,  great post!

It's amazing when we get sober and get out of our head, we see today for what it truly is.  The Greatest gift just to be alive and breathing, seeing the goodness in others, animals, and nature.   Get outside today and to a park or river and enjoy that awesomeness that is around you.  That's cool that you made breakfest for your mother.  It apparently made her very happy!  smile
