Hi Rick, I'm chris. If you think you need some help, the best thing you can do is look in your local phone book for AA, and give them a call. Stopping drinking wil be one of the best things that you will ever do.
When you make the phone call, someone will let you know where and when your nearest meeting is. Going to a meeting is nothing to worry about, you'll meet some really great people who have all been where you are now (at rock bottom). They will be able to provide an understanding ear, and offer really helpfull advice, and support through the difficult bits.
I am quite new to this myself, I'm on day 78 and I've never looked back, being sober is so good.
Keep on coming back here too, it's a good place to be with some great people.
Go on, make that phone call, it makes sense! And you will feel so much better soon.
All the best.
Chris.

Your choice buddy.:) Reach out and take the first step, as you are doing now, my freind. One day at a time we do not pick up a drink, and we attend AA meetings on a regular basis, where we are all in the same boat, and identify with each other, sharing our experience, strength, and hope.
Staying sober one day at a time, isnt easy some days, but theres no comparison to the way it used to be.
Let us know how you make out, and share with us often. We care Buddy. We truly understand where you are at, and have been there.
Come and join us, for a better way of life.
There is one, after alcohol.:) We guarantee it. Go for it my freind. Go for it!!

Hi Rick, I'm glad you have found this board. Chris and Phil have given you great advice, I hope you will find an AA meeting. I'm a fellow Texan and we have great groups in the Lone Star State.
Hang in there and take it one ay at a time. You can do it if you really want to.Keep posting here, lots of wisdom and soberity shared .
I'm glad you're here and I second what everyone else has said. I reached a point where I couldn't stop drinking. I always promised that I'd quit "tomorrow."
I looked up AA in the phone book, went to my first meeting and felt welcomed by those who understood and they told me to keep coming back, that it would get better. It's been a hundred times better ever since.
It will be for you, too, if you want it. Please give it your best shot. Please keep coming back to share with us, too.
