There were 3 gentlemen who between them have a over a century of sobriety who always sat together at the end of the same table at the Sunday meeting where I used to live. My EX proclaimed them the 3 Amigos. She also like to call some of the other old gals Salty Old Broads and the Men Grumpy Old Geezers.

Like most things......age is a "state of mind" for me. Can't stop the process so for me why not enjoy each day that passes. My daughter recently told me....."you are the crazy grandma". In reponse, "And what exactly do you mean by that?!" "It's a good thing..... there is usually one grandmother (or grandfather) that a kid favors. Haven't you noticed that? Anyway, everytime you walk in and speak Thomas lights up and just grins. You make goofy faces, get on the floor and roll around with him, ect ect. You act goofy and like him and he can relate. Crazy Grandma, that's you!" So this is just one little example of that "state of mind" thing. Wanda
that's great wanda. John B talks about how little kids need us (parents and supporting adults) to be a mirror to them to validate them and their feelings. when he makes a goofy face and then you make it back, that's validating and that's why it makes him feel good. amazing that no matter what the age difference is, you can be counted as one of a child's peer group if you do this.
