well I hate how right it always is. It's like some jerk followed me around listening to exactly what goes on in my head and watching all the bad, stupid things that I do and wrote it all down.

I'm doing pretty good if any of you are interested. Feeling better everyday...making sure I get to meetings, keeping my mouth shut, listening, refraining from letting myself think thoughts like "wow, these people are freakin crazy"...seeing the similarities rather then the differences, etc.

I guess I'm just checking in.

Hi blankstare

Always good to hear from yu Tipster..

Hate the big book?  yaaaa..

I used to hate looking at all the truth and reality, in that thing..

Still do...some days...

We are all from the same mould...just took a few different roads to get here...

And the saying that "One Alky cant bullshit another Alky" is true..:)

Have a great day...

Yeah, Tips, reading the BB isnt always so wonderful. I mean, Harry Potter doesnt make me aware of my character flaws and then give me a guide line to folow. Once I know something, tis pretty hard to ignore it. You keep hanging in there, and know we're always here. We can always throw those books at eachother when they nail us, right? LOL, Chris

Hi Tips,

Glad you're getting to meetings and listening for the similarities. It took this alkie a little while to start doing that and it was a tough ride. Yup, I hated the Big Book too as it knew me better than I was comfortable with. But, it's a lot better these days.

Take care,

Carol

TM, you're in good company. I'm more of a 12 & 12 guy myself. more meat less potatoes. Sometimes you can laugh, other times it hurts. I too am a garden variety drunk. The good news? I don't have to wonder IF i'm an alcoholic like some of the lite weights with less history or character defects...I'm the real deal. I've got an allergy and I can't drink no matter what. I've also come to find out that I had a few other labels that come after that one, and I deal with it the same way AA taught me....one day at a time.

More good news, after a being sober awhile, I also have quite a few positive labels now, good father, good son, good husband, good friend.... Stick around it keeps getting better
