Quick question about mileage reimbursement for all these doctor trips

This might seem like a small thing compared to what a lot of people are dealing with on here, but it's starting to add up and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be tracking this or if I missed my window. I got hurt at work about four months ago, a bad ankle sprain that's been slower to heal than anyone expected, and I've been going to physical therapy twice a week and seeing my orthopedist once a month. I live about twenty-five miles from where I'm getting treatment, so I'm putting a lot of miles on my car and spending a decent amount on gas. I remember hearing somewhere that workers' comp is supposed to reimburse you for mileage to and from medical appointments, but I never asked about it and the insurance company never mentioned it. I've been keeping a log of all my appointments just in case, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to submit it now or wait until the end or if it's even something I can still claim since I didn't bring it up earlier. I've been trying to find a New York workers compensation lawyer online to ask about this, but I figured I'd see if anyone here has dealt with this before I start making calls. Does the insurance company automatically pay for mileage or do you have to ask for it? And if I've been going for months without submitting anything, can I still get reimbursed for those trips or is it too late? I know it's not a huge amount of money in the grand scheme of things, but every little bit helps right now and I don't want to leave anything on the table. Any info would be great.
