Prayer of St. Francis This translation of St Francis' well-known prayer is found on Page 99 of Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions as a suggestion for meditation. It is reported to have been Bill W's favorite prayer.
Lord, Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy. Where there is discord, harmony. Where there is error, truth. Where there is wrong, the spirit of forgiveness.
O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek To be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand. To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned. It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Speaking of Bill W does anyone remember the biographical movie after his life story that was made in the 80's? The movie is simply called Hi, My Name is Bill W. I remember they used to play it regularly at one of my old fellowships (I haven't been to AA in 3 years btw) I haven't seen the movie in forever though it seems. Well anyways I just read that the movie is coming out on DVD next month. It's a great movie about the recovery process and I've been meaning to see it again (as well as joining AA again)
You can pre-order the "My Name is Bill W" DVD on Amazon.com for $14.95, to be dilivered upon it's release. (Not plugging for Amazon..if I come across any other resources I will list them too.)
Amazon is pretty cool. I like their prime shipping. I will probably either get it from them or the best buy down the street but I will definitely get it the moment I see it
Though I thought I read somewhere the DVD was coming out the 6th. I might drive to best buy today and see if they have any copies.
