I know I am an alcoholic.  My husband knows as well..altho we dont talk about it much until there is an issue.

I do not want to go to meetings, small town.

can anyone point me in the right direction?

Go to meetings if not in your town, then in a neighbouring town. Chances are you're known as a boozehound in your home town. Go to meetings.

We cannot make a decision for you ... If you've had enough and are sick and tired of being sick and tired, and are willing to go to any length to get well, then only you can make that decision ... Find an AA meeting place and go get some free help ... one on one help is the best way to start getting better ...

So somebody sees you going to a meeting, who cares? Chances are most peoole you know are well aware of your alcoholism. We're never as good at hiding it as we imagine we are.
