Hey My friend was caught last day for impaired driving. His car collided with another vehicle and he was caught. It was found, the alcohol level in the blood exceeded the permissible range. Is it a serious issue? What should be done to save him? Should we meet SPAM Link deleted? What are the penalties which can be charged? He is planning to go abroad for a new job. Will the case be a hindrance for him? I would like to know your opinions. Thank you.

Yes, it IS a serious issue ... ... ... It is very irresponsible to drive impaired ... so he should deal with the consequences he chose to put in place ... it WILL BE expensive and perhaps give him a 'wake-up' call that he cannot afford to make the same mistake again ... He doesn't need 'saving', he needs to work his own way through this ordeal ...
Penalties??? ... they are pretty stiff here in the USA, Canada is probably close to the same ....
Hindrance for him??? ... A lot depends on if it's his first time and if his new job views drinking to be a serious liability ...
Do you have a problem with alcohol???
Pappy

Your friend could have killed someone's mother, father, sister, child...is that serious?
I have zero sympathy for drunks who bring others down with them. I should have been locked up a thousand times, but I got lucky. Your friend, even though he got caught, also got lucky. He could have killed someone and been staring down the barrel of years in prison. If this incident doesn't change his behavior, then he's write off who deserves what's coming to him. And if you do nothing to intervene in a significant way, then you're complicit.
