No one knows.

No one knows about me going to aa and coming on here etc..

Even my best mates.. have no idea.. i havent told ANYONE.. .. Only you people on here know about this part of my life..!..

I intend to tell my mum n dad but only after  i have got myself sorted.. i would love to tel them that i have been to aa.. but i cant do that till i am better.. them knowing and possibly even going would ruin my chances of recovery... so they cant know till i get myself sorted.. if i even can..,..

I feel for you Rob.

how long you been about for mate? You will tell them when the time is right.

Throughout the big book it says "have you been loving to all" This starts with you mate.

I needed to get a bit of "time" under my belt, before telling anyone, otherwise, they'd all just say "yeah, right, another attempt at quitting, we'll see how long this one lasts".  There are few people in my life right now who know I am a practicing member of AA, the ones who don't just wonder what changed about me ........ You do it when it's right for YOU but keep in mind it's not something you MUST do.

First, we try living in the now just in order to stay sober - and it works. Once the idea has become a part of our thinking, we find that living life in 24 hr segements is an effective and satisfyking way to handle many other matteres as well.  Living Sober p.7

Having 2 months in this program under my belt, I can agree that it's absolutely a personal decision, and not at all necessary, to tell anyone you are going to AA. The only thing that matters is that you are going to AA and you keep coming back!
