Sorry for the absence, ... Pray you're all well and sober and working to keep each other sober ...
Last Chemo was this past Fri. ... Let me tell you, it gets worse, much worse ... Doc sez 6 to 12 months to regain strength .. :(
Very sick all the time and muscles feel like wet noodles ... ... ... BUT ... IT"S OVER ... ... ... one way or the other I'll NEVER go through that again ... and the recovery ain't over by a long shot ...
Thanks so much for everyone's prayers ... they're all that keep'n me go'n ... Hope and pray to get back to regular postings, but may be a while ...
Love you guys so much,
Take Care and God Bless,
Pappy

Hey, great to hear that the chemo is done! I read a post where you talked a bit about what you have gone through in sobriety, and I can say you are a real inspiration to me.
I havent been sober long and still worry about the " bad times" coming up in the future, and how I will handle them. Its comforting to see someone in the program that has been through so much, and hasnt had to drink- it gives me hope as a newbie.
Wow Pappy, that doesn't sound like fun at all. Glad that part is over. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Drink lots of water and protein shakes. Keep moving brother, lots of living today yet.
Thank you guys for all the awesome support ... I am very surprised, pleasantly I might add, that I'm feeling much much better since the last Chemo ... it's really amazing ... just wish my physical strength would hurry up and return ... I'm walking better but still cannot negotiate steps ... I can drive now, but must be close to the place I need to go ... still can't walk my dog, but hope to be soon ...
The Love coming through this board has given me the strength and desire to move forward ... it kept me pushing forward ... and for that, I am so very grateful ... AND for the 'sober' bond we share that has made our journeys worthwhile ...
With love, God bless, Pappy

One of my biggest fears, when I return after one of my lengthy hiatuses, is that one of MIP's beloved members will have shuffled off this mortal coil. It happened once before and I was heartbroken.
I'm greatly relived to see you're still with us.
