Some of you may remember me? Some may not know me... well I'm back yet again. Wow almost 5 years of being "out there" It is not fun. I have a 3 year old daughter with my wife now and she is a truly a blessing. 16 days ago I had a weird episode where I drank a bunch and spent a lot of $$ at a casino and ended up dehydrated and in a hospital getting IVs. I haven't had a drink since. Grateful to be alive and sober. Been going to meetings and starting the steps. Am glad to be back and see some familiar faces. Very sad to read about John. Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Easter.

I remember you Steve. Welcome back, you have been missed. You will see many of the oldtimers are still here and contributing, though I am not here so much myself these days. Good to see you. Lets hope this marks a turning point for you.
Great to see you back SS, ... yep, I fell flat on my face a number of times before I finally saw that AA was the only way, if I were to live another day or two ... I had a choice, live or die ... I chose to live ...
Love ya man and God Bless, Pappy

Yeah, a lot has changed over time ... it's not quite as active as it has been in the past, but, a lot of good work is still being done ... support is still the primary objective ...

just a guess, but, I'm thinking you tried some "controlled" drinking at first. "I'll just keep it down to a couple. It ain't gonna hurt nothing. I can stop at 2. Or 3."
"Ok...just 1 more. Ain't gonna be the end of the world"
then, you're up to 8 or 9, and you just say "ah, F„< it, what's the point in stopping now".
Been there. Done that. It just doesn't work for us.
