Will there be any adverse effect if I undergo this procedure while consuming alcohol?

I am addicted to alcohol. First, I started consuming alcohol as a stress buster. But now it has become a part and parcel of my life. I broke up with my girlfriend last week and I am going through a tough time. And to deal with this situation, I depend on alcohol. I am also scheduled for a LASIK eye surgery in Seattle next week. My doctor advised me to abstain from alcohol for a few months after the procedure. But I am not sure whether I can stop it. What should I do? Will there be any adverse effect if I undergo this procedure while consuming alcohol? Please advise.

Welcome to the board Chumen, ...

I don't know 'bout anyone else, ... but I would not undergo this procedure without being sober a couple months ahead of time ... chronic drinking affects our mind, body, and soul ... so when we stop, our bodies go through a number of changes ... and one can affect our eyesight ... so I wouldn't chance a change to my eyesight with permanent Lasik that might make a change that cannot be reversed ...

The best advice I can give is to make a decision on whether or not you WANT to stop drink'n ... if not, I can't help you ... you're doomed to go to the bitter end in a fashion most of us here know only too well ... and that's a very horrible death ...

Good luck on the path your chose ...

I suggest go'n to some AA meet'ns and learn what we did to get sober ... for good ...

This is a board for alcoholics who are sober or trying to get sober. We're not doctors. I'm not sure what you're looking for..us to tell you to keep drinking like an alcoholic and your eyes will be fine? Sounds like your vision is the least of your problems, might want to go to some AA meetings.

I would ignore doctors suggestions and just drink anyway and deal with the health risks as they pop up. Life is too short. Take a fucking chance huh!?

I mean, it's only your eyesight we are talking about.

My eyesight fixed itself when I stopped putting the beer goggles on.

No more double vision.

I know that disguised ads are everywhere on the internet but this is ridiculous. Curse you Evergreen Eye Center!

Hey FishBait!
Focus on getting sober. Get the Fog out of your head, you will see more clearly and you won't need the LASIK.
Now Piss Off, OK?

Marc
