Letting go of old ideas

Many of our old ideas--especially those about alcohol, about drinking, about getting drunk, and about alcoholism (or problem drinking, if you prefer that term)--prove either worthless or actually self-destructive for us, and it is a great relief to get rid of them.

Agree here Tanin.

ALL My Ideas got me to a Psych hospital . Unless I Was Willing to Let Go of ALL the way I thought.

I was going to have to stay there . BUT I was willing to change , not only willing . I HAD to change . IMMEDIATELY.

Yeah, abandoning old ideas is like breaking a nasty habit, it remains irresistibly attached. How true.

Great post...
Let's revisit it to see if in the next 10-20 years it is still pertinent or outdated.

That's what I was afraid of.

I have had a nasty bout of the "stupids" for the last year plus....I think there is still hope for me. Perhaps.....perhaps not. Totally up to me--I completely and undeniably know this.
