Asking for prayer and help!

I have not been interacting on the boards for a good while because of internal and external hardships I am so overwhelmed with and that has reduced my ability to shoot positive energy, inspiration, and hope into the Universe for the benefit of others, when I am so stuck in the negativity created by severe depression, anxiety attacks and ongoing very labored breathing due to my having End Stage COPD.  I have lost 35 lbs, but when the most I have ever weighed was 142, that 35 lbs is a big chuck of me… I’m now down to 112 lbs.  The weight lose is attributed to my anxiety attacks.  One of the symptoms I experience is what happens when someone dies.  My body releases all the bodily fluids in me, immediately.  With having 3-5 of these a day, the food I eat is not in me long enough to solidify, nor in me long enough to pull the nutrients from.  So, all though I am eating as much as I can, these anxiety attacks are so severe that I cannot hold or gain my weight at all, it has me pretty much weathering away an oz. at a time.

I have lost the ability to work my own painting and pressure washing business as I did for over 15 years now.  My son, 37 yr. old, who is my main qualifier for Al-Anon, has tried to step up and help with keeping the business going.  But it’s probably not hard for you to imagine what it’s like for me to concede that the business is in the hands of an active A.  I know he and my crew of guys are doing the best they can, but regardless, I am here on the sidelines by no choice of my own, watching the business go down the drain, literally.  That’s a story for another time I guess.

I have been trying to reapply for my disability, but am so overwhelmed and intimidated by the process, I am going to have to find a disability advocate to help me though that process.

In the interim as I write this I have no idea where the money will come from to pay two utility bills on Monday, to avoid termination of the utilities.  (My internet which gives me access to you and the MIP site and my business sites), my cell phone, (from which all estimates are scheduled and arranged with potential customers) and water bill is all on the line this next week.  I need some help.  Not looking for any handouts, but hands to help me up from here.  From there, I will resolve the issues that got me in this mess to start with.  So, we don’t see a repeat any time soon or in the near future.  Just check your own heart and do according to your ability and desire.  Thank you.

To help me, just use a debit or credit card on paypal, and send it to

johnfreifeld@gmail.com

or click the donation link on the message board.

John

Founder/Webmaster of MIP

PS. BTW, as all this is unfolding, I am crushed by the deaths of both my lil 12 yr. old white Maltese’s.  Max had Addison Disease and was on treatment for it for over 2 years, but his age and general health couldn’t fight it any longer and it finally took him down.  Baby Girl, had Congestive Heart Failure.  This all happened in the past 6 weeks, with losing Baby only a week ago.  I still have my lil mini Poddle, Lilly Girl, and two cats, Bounce and Jessie.  They are all 12-14 yrs. old.  They have all been my furry little kiddos for many years and when two are lost so close together, grieving starts for another, before the other has been resolved within.  I have shed quite a few tears lately.

My post was deleted because it was not what you wanted to hear. That's ok.
I carry the message of recovery through the steps, not the drunk.
If you have to shutdown your site I would be willing to consider setting up a replacement in my webspace to help you out.

When I had my stroke and was no longer able to work my employer referred me to a company which took care of the disability application stuff for me.

John,
You are, as always, in my prayers.

Marc, as usual to your form, you are disgusting!

And Visionz...why on earth would you question this man's sobriety?

Totally inappropriate and especially when it is very obvious that John needs encouragement and support right now rather than judgemental  and questioning attitudes thrown his way! I mean WTF is wrong with you people? This site has helped me, as well as prob. tens of thousands of other people throughout the years. John has devoted many years of his life helping others. What are you guys doing? Don't you have any gratitude at all????

And if anyone is a troll, Marc, it is YOU! Tanin has, at least, tried to help other alcoholics --albeit in his unorthodox way. Why oh why you have been allowed to continue to post disparaging comments about others for so long without getting removed from here is beyond me. Your site is NOTHING compared to this one and why you have been allowed to continue to try and ride on the coattails of MIP to try and promote your own site is far beyond my comprehension.

Perhaps, Marc, you are jealous of John and his efforts and accomplishments in establishing a board which helps not only alcoholics--it helps families of alcoholics who have to cope with all our our BS! But to take advantage of this man's pains to try and promote your own site is completely, again,  inappropriate.

Thank you very much to the the few left here who do continue to provide love and hope to me and other suffering alcoholics.

Thank you for your post LTR, ...

I agree with you LTR ... ... ... John went way out of his way to help me 'early on' ... and what he's been through with his 'significant other' and his son this past few years, it's noth'n short of a miracle that he's still alive, much less staying sober ... no human should have to go through what he did, I know I couldn't have done it, I'd have killed myself long before now if subjected to what he had to live with ...

Love you sister and God Bless,
Pappy

John has done more than most people I have met in my 50 plus years have ever done to help others!!!!!! I need to help him in my (however to many insignificant way perhaps to many...but the most I can do at this time;unfortunately, I am still living at below poverty level; however, this is extremely important) . Have many of the people posting here, and a couple of those in their most ostentatious ways, helped at all, other than to use this site for their verbal bilious???? (Anyway, reminds me too much of the meetings, certain people always having the need to share at every meeting, and when the basket was being passed along, they put no money put in. Yet these people wore designer clothes and drove away from the meetings in their BMW's and such...another disgusting!

Anyway, John has sustained this board, and I am sure it ain't cheap! He has reached out for support and comfort to us and I am sure it was not an easy thing to do for him. WE ALL OWE IT TO JOHN TO BE LOVING AND SUPPORTIVE IN HIS TIME OF NEED! C'mon people!

Wow, I'm truly sorry to hear about your health concerns. I hope your condition improves.

I'm so grateful for this forum, even though I'm not an active contributor. I hope to get more involved in the future.

I hear you started this forum awhile back. It means a lot to a recovering alcoholic like myself, so may I be the first to say 'thank you'.

Being a full-time dad and budding entrepreneur has put a strain on my leisure time, not to mention my family. I hope that can now change.

I'll keep you in my prayers. And thanks again for all that you do, it has been a God sent.

A hearfelt plea, to be sure.

One which is even more pressing with his latest setback.  is what he posted this morning on the Alanon forum:

Asking for financial help. Not site relaied.

I am trying to buy my 1989 BMW Convertible back.  It will cost me 600.00.  If you have a means by which you can help me, no matter how little or much you can spare, it would be appropriate it.  If you have any pressure washing or painting i can do to earn from, I will likely accept the price you agree to pay to have it done.  Just plesse find a way to bring the 600.00 together as quickly as soon as  possible, I will truly be full of graditude and value it dearly.  Please consider this request as a MAKE A WISH... for a man who be honored to have his car back and ready for the road again.  I would be willing to put a lean in the name for any who can loan the 600.00 on a reasonable re-pymt plan.  Please consider helping.  Any amount would be receive great gratitude

To me even if it's only 10 or 20.00

Just use your debit / credit card and donate the amount you are comfortable to send it to PayPal in the name/email address, johnfreifeld@gmail.com.  thanks for your consideration to help.

John

I hope John can resolve these crises.
