I joined this online community of Alcoholic Anonymous recently and am overjoyed by the amazing amount of support that is being offered to fellow Alcoholics. I have only attended F2F (face to face) meetings for my entire sobriety. Yeah I know you guys have been on here for decades, it just never occurred to ME.
There are so many different ways to carry and receive this life saving message and I have been so blessed the past few weeks by the amount of Experience, Strength and Hope that courses through these wires.
I have also joined other groups that have a weeklong meeting through correspondence as well as a cyber sobriety page that has three separate meetings that are a week long. One meeting is "Discussion" one is a Beginner's meeting and one a 12 x 12 meeting.
Our "kinship" goes beyond borders and time and I want all who seek this message of hope to know that you are in the right place, please keep coming back.
There is no more "aloneness", with that awful ache, so deep in the heart of every alcoholic that nothing, before, could ever reach it. That ache is gone and never need to return again.
Now there is a sense of belonging, of being wanted and needed and loved. In return for a bottle and a hangover, we have been given the Keys of the Kingdom.
