It has, once again, been a long time. A lot has changed since I was here last. Probably the most significant is that I have a new son, and he is AWESOME. He is healthy and happy, and my wife and I are crazy about him. I want him to be raised by a father who, unlike my own, really has his stuff together, spiritually and mentally. Part of the reason I want to start posting again (in addition to missing some of the awesome regular folks) is because I want to continue growing spiritually and have always loved the support of this space. I have not been working the program as intensely as I should (I know, I know), but I have managed to hold things together for the most part, and I am grateful for that. At the same time, this space was my initial exposure to AA and was what first got me sober. Meetings followed, of course, but this space really holds a special place in my heart. Anyway, it's great to see some of the latest posts. I'll try to be intentional about contributing regularly once again.

Congrats on your new baby boy, ... that's a magical time in one's life ... AND like you alluded to, it changes everything ... life is never the same when a baby comes along ... that's for sure ...
I love the attitude you seem to have about go'n forward into the future, be'n the type dad that you never had, that's awesome man ... and I'm so glad this site was a part of your learn'n the value of sobriety, that's fantastic ... just remember to maintain a daily 'conscious contact' with your Higher Power and if you've completed the 12 steps, keep steps 10, 11, and 12 close to the vest ... they'll keep you straight ...
Love ya man and missed you, and God Bless you and your family, Pappy

Hola Brother and congratulations on the new person and spirit in your life....((((hugs)))) to your wife for endurance and commitment and to you for bringing the spirit of happiness and joy here. Wanna grow your spirit and spiritual life? Do some meditation and inventory on how you were taken care of by your creator father and how that kept you in one piece till you got to the rooms of AA and to MIP.
When I got sober I came to understand and came face to face with my own creator Father, my HP and the creator of my culture. He abides with me and so many of the cultural local drunks and brings us into value and makes us useful.
