This is not a opinions based forum. Lives are at stake here. When I joined this forum some years back, it was all about recovery from alcoholism. I am sad to say that I very rarely find anything tangible that I can relate to. Pappy delete away. You are the authority on this board.
Agreed. And this was my issue and a literal replay of problems I had being the mod here. The site is MUCH better with moderators. MUCH. It is worth a smaller sacrifice to have some order. Also, when the same person shows the same exact problems with anyone in that role role, it is likely their problem and not the mods. So no need to get that upset even if someone takes your inventory and questions your integrity regarding the decisions you make. This is the internet and not an AA meeting. Group conscious cant happen efficiently, so mods are needed. I've seen both sides of the coin. No mods is WAY worse.

Yes. The latest deleted topic in question (if I'm correct) wasn't just about satanism, it was a trolling post about sex acts with Satan and loving his cock and so on. It also had a link to a website that not only was satanistic, but was a White Supremacist website! which falls within the posted MIP guidelines of deleting posts with "discriminatory comments based on race, ethnic origin, gender, or sexual orientation". I'll admit the post made me chuckle, but I agree it was not helpful or needed in any way, regardless of one's religious affiliation. If posts like that were allowed to run rampant, this would be a very sorry looking Board indeed. In regards to other posts deleted, I believe they easily fall within the "Moderation" section of MIP Posting Guidelines.

I had to take a break from the board for awhile.....
I have realized that people who have the desire to put others down, make uncalled for and nasty comments which are guised as "jokes" which are really not funny at all, name call others and use an Alcoholic's Anonymous related board as a method to do these things really are ones suffering from deep insecurities and are trying to make themselves feel better because they lack self-confidence and are not equipped mentally to deal with their own life in a mature and healthy manner. I feel I am over being angry and know now that it is important for me to focus helping those who are coming here for the the real purpose that this board is intended. To do my own part, I will ignore any posting by one(s) who post hateful things and which do not adhere to the guidelines which were set by John in keeping this board civil and helpful to others who, like me, are alcoholics and are trying to get and stay better.
