Snugsy, it's like Tanin said...we talk about staying off alcohol, and sometimes some other things. Most of the people who write stuff here are in AA, but not all, and you don't have to be a member of AA to participate in this forum. You just have to have a desire to quit drinking, or, if you've already quit, you have to have the desire to stay quit. Sometimes, talking about it with other people that have the same issues helps to make us feel better about ourselves, and helping other people stay off of alcohol gives us direction and purpose in life, so it helps us. (Most of us didn't have any purpose in life while we were drinking.)
that is basically what AA is, also. A bunch of people who try to help each other to stay sober, using guidelines from the Alcoholics Anonomous book, also known as "the Big Book".
Most of the conversations and people here are friendly, sometimes some of us have little quips, and sometimes some of us can be a little brash, but it's all good intentions. We are happy to be off the drinking, and we want to help others to be happy, too.
Join us in our little forum for a while. Maybe we can learn something from each other.
