Hi, I have been wondering lately what does "spiritually fit" mean to everyone here? I know for me it begins and ends with the 4 absolutes. Honesty, Purity, Unselfishness, Love. Also, for me the word HONESTY means the most to me. I wonder, though, if anyone has seen this video?

Welcome to the forum, Lady. I'm curious as to how you utilize the 4 absolutes in your recovery program. Could you give us a brief explanation, please?
I place Honesty and Facts above anything else. The 4 absolutes ground me into a "spiritually fit" life. Since I embarked on a mission to help myself in AA 12 years ago, I learned God and my angels come before anything else. Including AA. If AA has anything that goes against basic spiritual principles, I readily bring it up to my priest, ministers I know, Catholic nuns. I run AA by my spiritual advisers and together through Christ we arrive at a divine truth and perfect bliss.

To me, ... being 'spiritually fit' is living the 12 steps of AA, not just knowing the steps, but living them ... because in AA one learns to have a conscious contact with God (or a higher power), and that opens a persons eyes to the meaning of 'faith, hope, and love' ... and when you make conscious contact daily with God, one comes to be at peace with ones self ...
Oh, and I think who ever made that video in your post is horribly misguided ...
Love ya and God Bless,
Pappy

Two video links posted on an AA related site and not supporting AA by two newbies within a 24 hour time period?
I did watch a little bit of that garbage video. Sorry OP, that you were not willing to work the AA program and it didn't work for you. There is really no need to come and litter this site with such a repulsive video bashing and blaming AA for your experience. Very very cruel and I don't believe that God wants us to behave in that manner.
I would not say someone having that behavior is very "spiritually fit". Not trying to take your inventory, but your bragging about how spiritually fit you are and trying to get people against AA, when it can save their life is just so very horrible a thing to do!

Did you watch that video, Tanin? Do you think it is good that this board has something so horrible about AA on it when this might be the only site that someone comes to get sober?
(Oh, and thank you for taking my inventory of me taking someone else's inventory, if that is what I am doing....LOL)

I watched the whole video. I don't think Lady should be censored for stating an opinion. Lots of people criticize AA. No need to get excited about it. Or afraid of it.
H1,let me get understand it clearly: you agree that you were taking Lady's inventory (while saying you were not doing so)?
Tanin, I have no idea what you even mean by that comment.
Have you not forgotten your own habits of "inventory taking" when you went and dug up seven year old postings from another site and made people on here aware that it was one of "us" on this board? You had some choice things to say about that poster. Was that not "inventory taking" or are you an exception to that "rule"?
I will say that you had nothing to say about the poster's video and were quick to make a remark on my posting. Now you are trying to get into something with ME? Don't you realize that is what this poster/troll wants and delights in--us falling out with one another to give them another "Aha!" moment. I will not be checking back on this particular posting. I refuse to get into a back and forth thing with you and wreak my serenity over something so absurd.
I will say that you had nothing to say about the poster's video...
I would say something like Bill Wilson once said (1965):
Facing Criticism
Sometimes, we register surprise, shock, and anger when people find fault with A.A. We are apt to be disturbed to such an extent that we cannot benefit by constructive criticism.
This sort of resentment makes no friends and achieves no constructive purpose. Certainly, this is an area in which we can improve.

I am definitely open to talking about recovery but I never reveal membership to any organization.
OK. I'm still interested in the manner you use the 4 absolutes. Especially since they are not part of the AA program. Do you use all Oxford Group concepts and practices. Or do you use a combination of AA and OG?
