6 months ago a triple A meeting started All Addictons Anonymous, some were sceptical some still are but I find that so many of my AA friends have other addictions they would like to talk about and, hear themselves work out.
we know that alcohol is just a symptom of our illness and this is somewhere that gives me a voice to speak about just about anything else too
We started one about 14 years ago. It was a nameless group which started with 12 people around a AA book study meeting. The meeting evolved into an all addictions meeting. I am the only one from the original 12, but over 600 newcomers have travelled the road with us over the years.
AAA covers a lot of ground per http://www.alladdictionsanonymous.org
If you are in real trouble if you are addicted to alcohol, drugs, tobacco, food, sex, worry, resentment, lying, depression, or anxiety if you want to recover, and if you are willing to accept and act on suggestions from people who themselves have recovered the outlook for you is good.
They also mention coffee as an addiction.
They use the 4 absolutes in addition to the 12 steps.
I've not heard of AAA before this thread. I might try a meeting, unless it is too religious. But there seem to be very few across the world.
