Welcome to MIP Onzello, ... glad to have you here AND thanks for sharing your story with us ... I'm happy to know you've found a home in AA and pray for you to continue to have the strength and desire to stay this time ... Like you, I tried AA about 1995, but I didn't come to stay until '08, it saved me from my dying days and I too have called it home since ...
Love ya and God Bless,
Pappy

Thanks alot for the welcome (and prayer) just got back from a pretty good meeting a little while ago. COngrats on your staying so long. It's just one day at a time, isn't it? Well, hope to talk to you again,
You're absolutely correct ... Today is ALL we are guarantee ... it's a gift and how we use it is all that counts ... maybe I'll be able to drink tomorrow(not likely), but I do know I don't want to miss out on today, so today?, I chose not to screw it up by taking a drink ... cause for me, one drink leads to many, many more until I am unable to function as a human being at all ...
Not only does taking one drink make me incapable of love, it makes it near impossible for others to love me ... Alcohol damn near totally destroyed my family, who in their right mind would invite that back into their lives ??? ... The AA way of life makes it possible for me to actually enjoy being alive for the first time in my life, thank God for AA and showing me how my selfishness with alcohol and everything else had put a barrier up between family, neighbors, and God ...
Welcome brother and God Bless, Pappy
