Finally got an AA meeting brought into the facility I work at through the institutions committee

I was worried that the boys would not take to it well because they are so young and typically don't even label themselves as having drug and alcohol problems even though they do.  I was so pleased and proud of how respectful they were to the volunteer who told his story last night and will be facilitating speaker meeting weekly from now on.  They all listened intently...it was amazing.  It was just a moment and they may not always be so positive.  They are juveniles so...But nonetheless, it felt good to watch them be exposed to AA and the results being so much more positive than I thought.  I was scared they were going to poopoo the whole thing.  The guy bringing in the meetings it PERFECT for these boys.  They really related to him I think.

Bless you guys that bring meetings into institutions.

Good Work Mark

I was involved with H&I up North with Narcotics Anonymous and we saw many good results when people would get released from Institutions and start making regular program meetings.Shared  at many Hospitals,TC'S,Half Way Houses,Transitions and other places   Good luck man....smilesmile

That...is a keeper Mark.  Good plan and follow thru...awesome.   I also use to work with the young in and out of institution and they were hugely receptive to hear and learn because of course they were as concerned about what drugs and alcohol were doing to them and their fear of the powerlessness over it.  Great Job!!  I will put this one in my conversation with my HP for its long lasting success.   (((hugs))) smile
