Laying our Burdens Down

Well today is a new day, full of hope and promise.

I have been feeling burdened by "am I doing the right thing"  I see so much on this Board, and start feeling that I must catch up with........the problem is I don't know who I am suppose to be catching up with.

There is a saying in the little 24 Hour Book, "Remember to wear life like a loose garment".

I have been introduced to a woman in AA, that lives a few blocks from me, and I have agreed to be her temporary Sponsor.

To do that, and do it well, is all that this little Alcoholic  needs to do for today. First things first,   Step One.

Wishing you all a very "Easy Does it" Day.

I am laying down the burden of "How am I doing" and going with "doing the best I can today"  with His Guidance.

The first part, How am I doing - - tenses me up! Regular Breathing

The second part, Doing the best i can - -relaxes me! Slower Breathing

Love, Toni

hey, Toni...   thanks for your share.  The only one I need to catch up with today is myself, and that is hard to do. Someone told me once, when I had a very major decision to make in my life, and really wanted to do the 'right' thing, that if you think about it and consider it as well as you can, and then make the best decision you can, and then do the best you can... that is the best you can do,,,  so it is best,,, and God does the rest.

Step 1 is to remember that we can't control people, places or things,,  or alcohol.  Remember that with your sponsee too,,,  a loose garment there too. God bless you, today.

When we ask how we're doing ,, the answer depends a lot on who we are asking,,,  and it is God's opinion that is the one that really counts.  I'm finding that He is pretty patient, and that He does guide me through inspiration, from reading, from meditating and praying,, and from my friends. The opinions of envious people, or enemies that hate me,,, are going to be negative no matter what,,,  just to bring me down.

So, onward, ho!  Do the best you can, and I will too,,,  knowing that it won't be perfect, but that God will take up the slack in His mysterious way.

love in recovey,

amanda

Toni,

I'm saying a prayer for you today my friend. I have always loved the saying "Remember to wear life like a loose garment", it just sounds so freeing, not bound by restrictions, able to move about  where ever God leads me to go, to reach out where Ineed too.

I think the lady is very fortunate to have you for a temporary sponsor.

(((Hugs)))

I have a young newcomer that latched on me.  I was kinda thinking a few hrs ago.  Why can't he get someone close to where he lives to pick him up ?  I live north of tonights meeting and have to go past it quite a ways to get him.  The person who brought him in is close. He told him he was going to a diffferent meeting and didn,t invite him.  WHY ?  WHY ? WHY do I ask?

I guess he likes me and needs my help. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO All i can do is help him find the program. I will choose it to  be a honor tonight not a burden !

Give back a little of what was so freely given.  This old man is going to be up past his early bedtime.  SO WHAT !!  I always drank past it !  Just a litttle time and gas********no biggie***  I could make excuses ??

Have a good eve all
