Do you feel connected to nature?

Greetings, everyone.

I am an Adult Child of an Alcoholic, and I am also a masters student studying biology at Miami University. For a research project this semester, I am interested in learning about how individuals with experiences with addiction connect to nature.

Please take 5 minutes to fill out an anonymous survey about your relationship with nature. All responses will remain completely anonymous.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/13gpMASvBL2q9lGuK3FfEp4PlbkdzSOeATl0nCQHWPBs/viewform?c=0&w=1

Your responses will help me work with 12-step groups in my area to offer nature experiences for healing and coming together.

If you have any questions about the study, please post below or email me at martelek@miamoh.edu. Thank you so very much for your time, and for sharing your perspective!

I took your survey ... I admit, it's interesting ... I would like to know a little more about your prospective, 'healing' through adding 'nature' in the mix, comes out ... one rehab i WAS AT HAD SOME MEETINGS AND CLASSES OUT-DOORS .... I think it lowered the stress and was conducive to more, and better, participation ...

Some AA meetings I've been to are out-doors and are quite enjoyable ... (these are always better AWAY from high traffic(auto) areas, LOL) ...

Jerry's group, in Hawaii, has meetings by the ocean ... so cool !!!

I also think that to get closer to nature is a great way to become closer to God, or whatever 'higher power' one chooses to think of ...

God Bless,

Pappy

Thank you so much! My research is mainly related to practicing mindfulness (focused awareness of the present moment) and how being in nature can foster mindful thinking.

You have some great points about how being outdoors can help lower stress and lead to open participation. Thank you for sharing!

I am an alcoholic who has been sober for 4 months. In my third week of sobriety I reconnected with my higher power while hiking alone in Grand Teton National Park. The scenery, the smell, the colors, and the quiet were overwhelming.

I believe it will be beneficial to a large number of kids. I'm also a student who appreciates any assistance; it's fantastic that so much knowledge is available in the public domain. And because it's often tough for me to cope on my own, I seek assistance from this program buy college essay . It can remove unnecessary stress, allowing me to spend more time on myself and recharging my personal resources.
