The hardest month to get! Congrats, the physical challenge is over, just don't take the first drink. Don't look back, it's a great ride!

Thanks all! Physically I'm feeling good, emotionally and mentally... Well, that is a different story. I know I need to be patient and work the steps... I need to get myself and my life in order right now. It's just so tempting to start dating again... I still feel like I need that outside validation. Getting sober and going through a breakup all at once has been extremely challenging. It doesn't help that my ex is already online dating, looking for his next girl.

I know what you are going through is painful...For myself it was a 17 year marriage that ended in divorce and one last failed relationship after that....Like I was trying to get back at her...And only ended up hurting myself and someone else. I'm not a big fan of "patience" when it comes to the steps....I prefer this...

Next we launched out on a course of vigorous action, the first step of which is a personal housecleaning, which many of us had never attempted. Though our decision was a vital and crucial step, it could have little permanent effect unless at once followed by a strenuous effort to face, and to be rid of, the things in ourselves which had been blocking us. Our liquor was but a symptom. So we had to get down to causes and conditions.

BB pg 63 - 64

I'm a big believer that we have to get ourselves together first...And then we get our lives together.

That's step four they are talking about....It's the first step where we are actually asked to do anything....I knew I had to have a good understanding of the first three steps with my sponsor....And then I had to do something.....I had to get down to causes and conditions. Hang in there..Namaste.

Thirty days!  Congratulations!  Don't forget to thank God for the time of sobriety you've been given.  And....right after that, it's time to get to work.  Time doesn't change us.  We change by working the Steps.

Blessings, Mike D.
