If you live in the Akron/Canton Ohio area, my girlfriend and I will be camping at KOA Sparta, about 30 minutes from Akron, in the Canton area. We are planning to enjoy festivities and 4th of July fireworks in Downtown Canton on the 4th, and visiting Dr. Bob's house and a few other AA related sites in Akron on the 5th. Would love the opportunity to meet some MIP members while on this journey.

Many years ago, a newly sober sponsee of mine told me that he was going on a trip to visit his family for the first time since he had gotten sober, and he was worried about staying sober because he didn't know if there would be any meetings where he was going (this was before we could just look this stuff up on the internet).
I asked where they lived, and he rolled his eyes and said "Akron Ohio. It's in the middle of nowhere!"
After I stopped laughing, I explained the significance of Akron to him and gave him instructions that he MUST go to Bill W.'s house and bring me back a t-shirt.
He stayed sober, and I still have the t-shirt, more than 20 years later.
