What are some of your best lessons in sobriety? I figured there are many lessons that have been learned here  an thought this may be a great place to post them as we go along and remember them.

You can't dress up a garbage can, no matter how well you make yourself look, if you're filled with trash you're just a good looking trash can. Dump it occasionally.

I guess for me....The one thing I have learned is that you can't give "willingness" to a suffering alcoholic. Sad...But true.

Miracles can, and DO, happen here ... ... ... AA is where I see the 'hopeless' find 'hope' ... ... ...

"If only....'s" were only excuses for me to continue to drink when I wanted to blame others for my drinking.
Now I try to remember....
"Only God can help keep me sober." and "Only I can cause myself to drink again"

Many run around seeking God, be still for a little while and let God find you.

My sponsor used to beat that into me early on, I was always searching for God lol, he was there the whole time and much to my surprise it wasn't me lol.
