I'm in Canada (right between Detroit, MI and Cleveland, OH) and it will be in the low 80's today.

Going to be a wet one though ... www.intellicast.com/National/Radar/Current.aspx

We were in VA for "Garden Week" a couple of years ago in April, we enjoyed Williamsburg, Richmond etc. It was quite hot then ... high 80's. Toured your bridge/tunnel.

All the best.

It's shaping up to be an absolutely perfect sunny day here, warm with a slight breeze and low humidity. It looks like I won't have as much work today as I had been expecting, which gave me a momentary twinge of 'fear of financial insecurity', but now I think I'll just get outside and enjoy the day....

disbeliefI am finding varying opinions between weather.com, my local news station and google about the weather here....anywhere from 99 to 103. In my searching I found something really bizarre in the headlines....

I just had a long conversation with my grandfather about growing up in the Deep South in the 1930s with no electricity or air conditioning in summer. Apparently, he and his family would go into town and walk around stores just to get relief from the heat. Made me glad to live up north!

We didn't have air conditioning when I was growing up. My sister and I each had a makeshift "bed" which was naugahyde leather. They were a little larger than the size of a twin bed and the twin fitted sheet wouldn't stay on them. I remember waking up so many times and the sheet would have come off one side of it and my skin would be "sticking" to the bed. Also, since I was a bedwetter until about age nine, the sweat from the heat as well and the pee, made me stick even more. Very uncomfortable and I just hating going to bed for that reason. I was also scared the "monsters" under my bed would get me. Yep, I really had that fear and for more years than I care to admit. Always was scared to hang my arms and legs off the sides of the bed.
