I believe that the greatest gift that AA gave me was sponsorship.

First all being sponsored. Someone took me by the hand and guided me through my sick years in AA. I subsequently got well.

I then sponsored others. They also got well.

Today my greatest gift is to see those that I sponsored, working with others. The chain of sponsorship is AA's greatest asset.

The tragedy of my sponsorship, is to see my own sponsor die, without ever regaining the ability to get well again.
