Simple Truths Easter Devotional
Weekly Verse
It is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
Philippians 2:13
Weekly Quote
The Lord doesnt promise to give us something to take so we can handle our weary moments. He promises us himself. That is all. And that is enough.
Charles Swindoll
Weekly Thought

A father and his young son returned home after a trip to the grocery store. The son loved being with his dad and wanted to help him finish the chore. In fact, he wanted to carry the largest bagwhich was much too heavy for himinside. The father had a simple solution. He put the bag in his sons arms and then picked him up and carried both inside.

What a lovely picture of how our Heavenly Father works within us. He loves our willingness to take on any assignment. But He knows what we can and cannot do in our strength. When the load is too heavy, the assignment too big, He honors our willing spirit by lifting us up and allowing us to do His work. He empowers us to accomplish more than we can in our own strength.

Do all you canbut realize it is Gods power working through you that makes the difference.

Dear God, I can accomplish great things with You working in and through me. Amen.

These passages are so good because they're so true.

Blessings, Mike D.

I sure have seen Him working in my life. I am doing things I never dreamed I would ever be able to do. And another thing.....my mom even told me just a few minutes ago on the phone that she couldn't believe how much more mature I have become over the last year......"Mature!"... I don't think that word has ever been used in connection with me.
(But then, my mom doesn't read my postings on here--some of them may have her retracting that comment. )
