Is there anything set up to send proof of attendance to meetings for my probation officer?

sent a note to the posted email on website and it was returned undeliverable.  Looking forward to my first meeting tonight.

In this area? Those that are required to attend AA are usually given attendance sheets to get signed

See the Chairman after the meeting...

Wont be a problem..

Hope you enjoy your first meeting

Welcome to the site grammi. I'm not real sure if you are looking into AA because you want to....Or if you have to. I got into in AA because nothing else I had tried worked for me. I was hopeless. It worked for me. If you are referring to the Tuesday night meeting on the site here....They haven't been active for awhile. Most of us here attend face to face real meetings...And I believe that is what is needed by a probation officer. Some kind of sheet that is signed by the person running the meeting to prove your attendance. I don't think they go for the online stuff. If you think you have a problem with alcohol and you want to do something about it...Change your life.....This is a great site to get started. If you have any questions...Feel free to ask.

thanks for the heads up for online meeting.  This site doesn't do any meetings???  If this is so, they need to take the meeting schedules offline.  I do go to outside meetings when possible, but being on disablity curtails the time I spend out and about.  The meetings online would be helpful in my situation.

If they haven't ordered you to meetings? Then why be concerned about it...?

Youre going to wind up doing your probation anyway...

Even at face to face meetings? Noones going to sign anything for you unless you have the probation sheet..

The only one you really have to answer to? Is YOU :)

thanks for your info.  I would just like the record to show them that I am taking care of me.  you are right, i don't have to please anyone but me.  However, probation officers can either be jerks or not and I figure the more they "see" that I have done, the less they will "order" me to do.  I have not had my first visit with her yet.

grammii,
I am not sure if they do online meetings on this site now or not. I saw a posting on this site (main page, I think) asking for volunteers to lead the AA online meetings. I responded to the person who it said to. That was several months ago and I didn't hear anything back. I would be willing to help do it, but don't know who else to contact for it.
I think it is very admirable on your part to try and make that kind of initiative. I don't know, if you do go online, how to "prove" it to your probation officer. If you think you have a problem with drinking, you can find online meetings at the site below. I did notice that some of them are "closed" meetings and that means only alcoholics can be in those "meetings" (just like live AA meetings). "Open" meetings means that anyone can "attend". Maybe you could keep a journal and record the site name, meeting name (they offer different ones), and date/time you participated. And you know what may help.....if you contact your probation officer (you should have her phone number) and mention to her that you are making the effort you are and just by doing that, I would think that would let her know you are serious.
I have never tried any of the meetings on this site, as I was searching for you. I may give them a try myself soon.

Good for you and luck to you.
