12 Months Hairy AA

After the week I had last week and this week seems to be starting out about the same, I decided to do some research to see how to cope with it better. I have heard that getting close to a year gets a little rough for AA members. So I researched the following.....

"12 Months Hairy AA"

....and the search results came up with this...

"The Hairy Bikers Asian Adventure" as well as other assorted sites about hairy bikers.

So I tried this.....

"12 Months AA"

..and got this.....

"Baby Banana Brush with Handles" (but I did get some real "AA" sites but none that helped with my problem.)

I put in my final search for...

"Almost a Year Sober Time Bitchy"

And got the following.....

"Cele-Bitchy (with a country singer's alcohol issue)" and I also got "Drunky Drunk Girl" (which I thought was a song sung by a country singer, which ended up being a site about getting sober)

I never have been very good about doing internet searches and using the right key words and I give up! I'm going to my meeting and need to finish getting ready.

Lol. I found some relevant posts using the terms "squirrely 1 year AA anniversary." Seriously, I felt some of that too and then some "now what?" right after. Thankfully the "now what?" was obvious as AA was working. Keep it up!

You know I have a sister who is a "normie" and could never get a year sober. Her thing is when she needs A drink she needs 1 drink. When I need a drink you better have a 30 pack.

I'm wondering if your one year mark could be around a PTSD point in your life? Mine sure is. Hitting my bottom was bad and I got a touch of PTSD simply from the pain of drinking. PTSD will recure around the same time of year. Things like even the weather will trigger the pain of our bottom and old behavior. I am also wondering if you have done any wrighting on what having a year sober means to you? My sponcer would have me wright a list of what it means to me to have a year sober and wright a list of changes in my life over the past year.

I heard a great one the other day you might like "old behavior is not old if your currently doing it, it's simply your behavior".

and

"fear is based on two things... First the fear that your going to lose something that you have and second the fear that you will not get what you want".

Love you BetterThan

Hug
