Weekly Verse
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands. Psalm 112:1
Weekly Quote
Joy, not grit, is the hallmark of holy obedience. We need to be light-hearted in what we do to avoid taking ourselves too seriously. It is a cheerful revolt against self and pride. Or work is jubilant, carefree, merry. Utter abandonment to God is done freely and with celebration. Richard J. Foster
Weekly Thought
The motivational adge tells us: if you enjoy what you do for a living, youll never work a day in your life. There is a parallel in the Christian life: if you find joy in God and doing the things that bring God joy, your service to Him will never feel like drudgery and an unwelcome burden.

We worry a lot about taking time for ourselves so that we dont burn out and become weary in doing good. But perhaps it is a sense of self-preoccupation that saps us of energy, and the act of giving and serving that reenergizes us.

Does service energize you and bring you joy? If not, turn your attention to the heart of God and what brings Him joy. You will find Gods joy to be contagious!

Dear God, show me the things that I can do that will bring joy to You. Amen.

Extra:

If you cant find happiness inside yourself, youll never find it in the outside world, no matter where you move. Wherever you go, there you are. You take yourself with you. This is the essence of happinesslearning to find inner contentment in any situation.

Are you as happy as you want to be? Does everyone elses life seem perfect? And yourswell, not so much?

Many of us tie our happiness to external factorsor feel on the short-end of the stick when comparing our lives to those of other people. But, sometimes, appearances can be deceiving. In fact, freeing ourselves from perfection can be the one of the keys to being happy with who we are.
