I went to an actual AA meeting tonight. I enjoyed it. I also engaged in the topic. There is nothing like being there in person. I am on my way of the 90 meetings in 90 days. I tried to go to the online meeting on this site, but don't know what time I was suppose to be on here.
I've got the same goal, that's awesome. It helps me feel supported. I love walking into a room and knowing that everyone else in there has lived the same crazy thing I've been living.
Keep us posted on your progress :) Don't give up on you... even if one day you wake up and think everyone hates you, or you hate everyone... and I can think of a million more excuses your disease will offer - DON'T LISTEN TO IT! YOU, are not your disease :) There is a beautiful valuable contribution to the world beneath that disease, and that is the real you.

I went to my first meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous the same day I was released from my second treatment facility, and even though I didn't know it at the time, I met men and women in that room who were going to help me do the things that would change my life. I had never been in such close proximity to that much honesty, love, understanding, and compassion in my life. I still can't describe the feeling I had, just being there with them. That was more than 26 years ago. I'll never forget it.
