I really needed to read this post, Phil, and thanks so much for it, as that is what I am going through yesterday and today more than I have in quite a while and have been unable to pull myself out of myself.
Amazing! How I can be feeling something like this, come here to this board or go into an AA meeting, and hear what I need so desperately to hear which helps keep me sober today.
I am grateful to you for posting this. Now I can go bake something for tonight's meeting.

as I mentioned th other day , about going down the hill to my 1st meeting  .

somebody complained about having to walk back Up th hill .

Yesterday I missed my 'home group' meeting . I was at a gig for "Seniors week"

also at th luncheon were some "disadvantaged" folk, who needed lots of care .

A couple of them wanted a photo with the group , I stepped fwd got between th two ,

gave em a hug as th nurse took a couple of pics .

Yes , Again it was a Reminder of how close , my accident , my drinking & my lifestyle ,

could have had Me asne of these folk . AND I DON'T Want to Forget that .

So I was able tp forget the -Poor me , poor me ,pour me -another drink .

very quickly.
