Anybody else getting this funky white sticky stuff? It's really coming down in VA! People are already going crazy. Traffic is a mess, stores are packed with people stocking up on their bread, milk and beer (not me on that last one). It's a good night to find an old movie on t.v., make some hot tea and fix some and pull the blankets up!

I hope all of you stay safe and warm!

BTY

tomsteve....hey maybe another time when my mind is completely gone instead of half-way, I will take you up on that offer.
Surprisingly, we haven't gotten as much as I thought we would. This am I was surprised, and a bit disappointed, that we didn't get so much more. I think those bygone school days when I would run to the window and see snow on the ground and think school would be closed, came back. I worry about people driving and getting out in it. Not as pretty as it used to be. It is rainy, mushy here now.
Thanks again for your very kind offer, tomsteve.
LOL

It was snowing here near Nashville last night like gang busters, but the temp was 32 to 33 and it didn't stick around very long ... and where I moved from, south Atlanta area, there was snow, then ice forming rain back to snow ... royal cluster ..ummm ... you know ... ... ...

So, I played with my new fancy 'coffee maker' and once I got the hang of it, I got coffee that's absolutely the best I ever had ... bar none ... oh no, I may have another addiction starting, LOL ... if y'all see me starting to bounce off the walls, you know it's not drugs, ...well, ... is caffeine a drug ??? ...  spin.gif

Love your little spinning man, Pappy! I was reading your post this am and we got another coffee machine for XMas and my coffee is still lukewarm and not all that great. What brand do you use? We get the cheapest half caff/half decaf brand.

Okay, as far as coffee goes, the wife must have Folgers 'Classic Roast' (regular caff)... and I'm good with that ... but it's the new coffee maker that is making all the difference ... our old one would brew the coffee okay, but it wouldn't stay hot ... lukewarm, like you said ...

I saw this new Coffee machine in Consumer Reports a couple months ago that caught my eye ... but it was expensive ... so we had to wait til we could afford it ... but now we have it, it makes coffee that is so different than I ever tasted before ... it's fantastic ... It's called the 'icoffee' machine from Remington ... $169.99 ... got ours from Bed, Bath, and Beyond on the internet ...

This thing swirls and steams the coffee grounds so that it extracts a full bodied taste ... rated better than a FrenchPress, whatever that is, and better than the other $200 to 300 dollar machines ... the thing is, is that you get ZERO bitterness (I used to add a pinch of salt to my grounds in the drip coffee maker to cut down on bitterness ...) ... but with this machine, you don't do anything but add the grounds and brew ... no filter needed ...

It is a little more of a hassle to clean, but well worth the EXTRA SMOOTH coffee that is and stays piping hot ... some of the reviews I read, people said they use less grounds ... but I have found I use about the same as I used to ... look up icoffee on the net and play the 2 to 3 minute video ... then you'll see my new gem ...

P.S.   I used to pour my a.m. coffee and nuke it for 40 sec. ... ... ... so it was hot enough ... (large cup)
