"Once more: The alcoholic at certain times has no effective mental defense against the first drink. Except in a few cases, neither he nor any other human being can provide such a defense. His defense must come from a Higher Power." AA book pg 43.
This one line, reaffirmed my powerlessness. It also reaffirmed my dependence upon God.
The human mind has tremendous potential for recovery, but I found that it is limited in the spiritual realm. I found that step 11 narrows my mind down and uses it's power for constructive prayer and meditation. There is no restriction here to use my mental faculties. It's the proper use of the will.

Confirmed! This was my experience. I spent a lot of time testing this belief. Always end the same way.
