I've been away from the site for a while and was just about to write a poor me post.
But first I took a few moments to read a few posts and I'm glad I did. It immediately got my issues right sized.
Add that to working with another alcoholic, reminding me that what I might suggest to others about keeping it in the day, about gratitude lists, about step eleven (and all the other steps), about being true to yourself, about seeing reality, about trust and amends.....it all applies to me.

Pappy. Success at last. At least one american now knows how to spell arse.
The house was going to be a big part of the poor me thing.
Progress is slow due to unreliable contractors who have now been dismissed.
With the aid of the internet and a retirdd ships engineer the central heating is fixed. The bathroom is rebuilt and replumbed. The utility room is complete and being used as a temporary kitchen as thr original kitchen is stripped out.

Holy Moley, ... I think you should've razed the place and just built a new house, LOL ... wish I were there to help, but now with our new house, I've got me hands full too ...
Lots to do ... don't have time to list them all, LOL ... had to fix a few things, but nothing like you're going through ... but still, it's great to have a place to call your own, ain't it ???

Wasn't Popeye an American? Well, I'm not sure he could spell though. And you know, that was a cartoon back from the 60's and I don't think they used "arse" in cartoons back then.
Hi Bill, Thanks for your post. I've never ceased to be amazed at how listening to others share at meetings (or on this board) can change my outlook on things and affect how I'm feeling. I think you just pointed out why we need the Fellowship of A.A. just as much as we need the Program of A.A. By the way, I live in Iowa, in the U.S. Thanks for sharing from across the waters.
