Lazy days with loved ones

This year is the first time in a very long time I have used most of my vacation.  I have almost 7 weeks to take.  I have take from the 20th of Nov and Dec off to the ends of those months!  Lots of wife time, family time.

it is quite cold and dreary outside.  It is warm inside.  I am getting out the Christmas decorations.  I just sat to enjoy some of this yummy pumpkin spice coffee and a little slice of pumpkin pie.  My wife is sleeping in the recliner, almost totally hidden under a few old favorite blankets.

One is a wedding present.  It has hearts on it and is a knitted affair.  Another is a fleece blanket our grand daughter put little tassels and beads on.  One is from her childhood.

She is literally wrapped up in loving memories.  Looking so peaceful.  I know she will be all excited with the tree going up.  I am learning how to live and love each day from her.

This is why I live and work the AA program.  This is my simple life.

I know the holidays can be stressful.  I hope we can all enjoy them and reflect on happy times.  I also think of the new people going to their first meetings, wondering how they can possibly live without alcohol.  The ones deciding to drink again.

it can be done.  There is help and hope.  There is one who has all power, may you find Him now.

Thank you to everyone that has shared.  I'm sober, sane, and content a little more today because of you.

It's a Wonderful Life.....Ahhh...one of my favorite movies (but I cringe at the part where the store owner keeps smacking George on his deaf ear for a mistake he made himself.)

It is Godiva pumpkin spice holiday coffee. Pretty yummy. And it is also pretty cheap for a holiday treat.

SS, that's lovely. I want that coffee too. And to be napping under cozy blankets.
