for my friend Barbara Munday.  She is fighting cancer post-op and is having serious complications with skin grafts that the surgeon now is refusing to fix.

Her life hangs in the balance, prayers are needed in the hopes that Shands Hospital Jax, FL will take her back and fix her up.  Please say a small prayer for her

Dear Lord Jesus, I pray on behalf of friend Dean that you will heal our dear sister Barbara from the life threatening cancer. She is precious to my friend and therefore very precious to me also.

You are a healing God and I pray that you will manifest your glory through this healing.

In Jesus holy name, I pray.

I did it. I 

never pray because who am I to ask the mysterious forces of the universe for anything?  I'm just some jerk with a drinking problem. I did pray this time though for your friend. Maybe I'll have beginners luck. I sincerely hope so.

The Prayer of Faith James 5:13

13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Well it looks like the prayers are having an effect. Shands hospital (and the Dr.) have agreed to her returning for surgery. She will still need prayers for awhile. They operated on her to remove a
huge cancer tumor from her throat, removing her jaw and building a new one out of bone removed from her leg. Skins grafts to her chin and neck died. She also contracted MRSA while in the hospital.
And there are some other issues. Please keep my friend in your prayers for while. Thanks all.

Thanks folks, I've known Barbara since we were 7. We met at this older neighbor lady's house (Mrs. Proctor), who taught the neighborhood kids bible verses and made us cookies and stuff. Barbara is a nurse and as such is a angel who is now in need of some angels. If you have good ones, please send them.

Your prayers are working folks.  All the sudden the Doctor and Hospital has a new attitude!  

 

"Just heard from Jan, he is in the car on the way to Jacksonville and Barb is being transported to Shands. He wanted me to let everyone know:


1) THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT!!!!!!!
2) Would have called Laura but as she is working today all day (Laura works 12 hours every weekend), he wanted to get the word to everyone ...
3) Found out that, as it turns out, Shands HAD initially accepted Barb, just hadn't communicated somehow (?) as they didn't have a bed ready yet (now they do)
4) Docs at Shands have communicated "we will do everything we can to save Barb"

I see the power of prayer in this, I see God and YOU in this. Bless you all, I am lucky to be in the presence of such fabulous friends of Barb's"

"OMG....I have great news!!!!

Jan just called me. The doctors told Barb that she just needs wound care and maybe a poss surgery to clean up the rough edges. Not major surgery!
BARB IS GOING TO LIVE!!!! : )))
The doc said that more than 50% of the skin graft took! : )
This type of wound care is common at Shands but not in our area.
The doc said the carotid artery that we were told was going to blow out in the near future, is surrounded by good tissue. : )
BARB IS DOING FINE!!! She is sitting up in the chair and she talked to me. She told me she loved me!! :))))
Jan said Shands acted like what are you doing here, you just need wound therapy. Down here they were ready to throw Barb into a Hospice House to die!
I am sooo thrilled and happy for Barb and Jan! He wants to go and buy Barb a lap top while he is up there so Barb can hopefully start writing on here soon!!
Jan sounded so relieved and I was about in tears! BARB SOUNDS GREAT!!
ALL OF THE PRAYERS HAVE WORKED!!!!!
LOVE TO ALL OF YOU!!"

Thank you Lord ... ... and thanks Dean for the update ... (I'm no stranger to severe 'wound care' ... my son had some really touchy spots to heal)(he almost lost a foot)(even though he's paralyzed, he wanted to keep his foot) ...
